If someone may be watching your device, here is exactly what our Quick Exit button can and cannot do — and what actually helps.
What Quick Exit does
With JavaScript on, it replaces this page with a weather page. Earlier ClearHelp pages may still be reachable with Back. If scripts are off, it works as a normal link.
What Quick Exit cannot do
It does not erase your browsing history. No website can do that — not ours, not anyone's. The address of this page can still be found in your browser's history, and Quick Exit will not stop software that monitors your device or your internet connection.
If someone has installed monitoring software on your phone or computer, or can see your account activity, they may be able to see this visit no matter what you do in the browser.
If you think you are being monitored
A device and account the other person cannot access may be safer. Call1-800-799-7233 (National Domestic Violence Hotline) from a phone you trust. They are free, 24/7, and can talk through your situation with you.
Before you browse
- Know the limits of private browsing. It limits saved history after you close all private windows. It does not hide device or network monitoring.
- Check who can access your accounts. Shared accounts may expose your activity on other devices.
- Think before changing settings or deleting history.Someone who monitors you may notice. An advocate can help you plan a safer next step.
In an emergency
If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For crisis support any time, call 988 ortext 988. For local referrals, try211 where available. Ask about language support.
