About ClearHelp

What is this?

ClearHelp is a free platform that connects people to relevant local and broader resources — and connects helpers to real opportunities in their communities. No ads. No sign-up. No bureaucracy.

We organize help by what people actually need: food, housing, health care, money, legal aid, and more. Results label their service area, source, last-check status, and available next steps.

The goal is simple: when someone needs help, they should be able to find it in seconds. When someone wants to help, they should find real ways to act, with reach and freshness stated honestly.

Accessibility

ClearHelp is designed to be usable by everyone. We take accessibility seriously because the people who need help most often face the biggest barriers to finding it.

Our accessibility commitments include:

• Large, readable text throughout the site
• High contrast colors that meet WCAG AA standards
• Keyboard navigation support on all pages
• Screen reader compatible structure and labels
• Large touch targets for mobile users
• Simple, plain language — no jargon
• Arabic-ready layout foundations while full locale routing is still in progress
• No meaning conveyed by color alone

Data Sources

The resources listed on this platform come from a combination of publicly available data, nonprofit directories, community-verified information, and curated local opportunity records.

Our sources include:

• CMS Care Compare — Medicare-certified provider data (U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services)
• HRSA — federally qualified health centers and look-alikes (Health Resources & Services Administration)
• SAMHSA — substance use and mental health treatment locator (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration)
• U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs — VA facility directory
• OpenStreetMap — community-mapped locations and opening hours. © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
• Overture Maps Foundation — open place data used to confirm listings, under CDLA-Permissive-2.0, Apache-2.0 and CC0-1.0.
• GeoNames — postal code and place data, under CC BY 4.0.
• NNEDV — state and territorial domestic violence coalition directory
• United Way / 211 resource listings, and reviewed community submissions

We use only free and openly licensed data. ClearHelp has no paid data subscriptions and no API contracts, which is part of how it stays free to run and free to use.

We work to keep information accurate and up-to-date. If you find incorrect information, please help us fix it.

Coverage note: ClearHelp accepts valid ZIP codes across the United States and its territories. Local depth still varies, so results say when a match is local, county-wide, statewide, territory-wide, remote, or national. Empty and limited coverage is shown honestly.

• Your organization's name and website
• What the program does and who it serves
• The exact ZIP, county, state, territory, remote, or national service area
• A working public link, phone number, or email

Every submission stays hidden until it is reviewed. There is no cost, no ads, and no automatic publishing.

Privacy

Your privacy matters. Here's what we want you to know:

• We do not require you to sign up or log in
• We do not sell your data
• We do not show ads
• ZIP code searches are not tracked to your identity
• We use minimal analytics to improve the service

This is a public service tool, not a data collection tool.
